Easter And Grandparents

 My parents flew up for the last week of March while my mom was on spring break. We loved having them up and we got to see a little bit of the seacoast even though the weather wasn't great the whole time.

We celebrated Easter while they were here and we all wore our spring outfits even though it was still freezing out.

We made it over to Kittery, Maine on the windiest of days and had crullers and coffee at Lil's Cafe. 

 The following day was warmer and a lot less windy so we explored Portsmouth a bit. My dad has been up a few times but had never seen much of the area so wanted him to make sure he at least saw downtown Portsmouth. 

Another great visit...now if only we can get some of those uncles up here!

Christmas 2015

Christmas was a fun, busy, and long day. It started early (as usually) with the kids waking us up wearing their super cute Christmas jammies. My mom makes the best flannel pj's and the kids love them.

We all stumbled down the stairs to start the day with stockings and coffee.

We're sticking with our Christmas wreath breakfast bread that we starting last year. We also had local sausage, grapefruit and orange juice.

Edith was super cute opening her first gift. She was very excited about new gloves...as you can tell.

A tool set from Nathans parents along with safety goggles. Those goggles are a hot commodity around here.

Edith received a wooden scooter to ride around inside. They were both super excited about putting it together. George even got to use some of his new tools.

Christmas and the few days surrounding it were unusually warm for NH. We took full advantage of the warmth and Nathans Saturday off to do a lot of walking around Portsmouth. It was a nice ending to all the Christmas craziness.

Summer Concerts At Prescott Park

Prescott Park in Portsmouth always has a great lineup of events during the summer. We only made it down for one concerts this summer but it was a good one. We packed a picnic and met friends for music by Brett Dennen. 

The weather was perfect and the kid had a blast dancing and running around. Being able to listen to live music and not having to keep your kids still is a win, win for everyone. Summer is the best!

Tall Ships

So our kids have been extra crazy the last few weeks. Like the kind of crazy that makes you vow never to take them out in public again. Well, then I got word that the tall ships were coming to Portsmouth. We've missed them the last few years and I didn't want to pass up seeing them again.

George was so very excited when I told him that we were going to see a big ship. The weather was perfect and the kids were, so far, acting pretty well. 

George was in awe of everything. I can't blame him since he was probably one of the smallest things on the ship.

 

I tried to get a picture of them together but Edith was too keen to run away.

As we were leaving George was very sad that we had to get off the boat. I asked him if he wanted to live on the boat and he said "yes!". 

I learned nothing about the boat since I was busy holding a toddler and making sure George wasn't going to plunge into the water below. Here is all the info on the glorious ship if you care to read.
