Christmas 2016

Here is Christmas from 3 months ago! Life has been a little crazy...actually a lot crazy but that's a different post. We were living with friends during December so we celebrated together. I think it's going to be a tradition because they came to our house last year. 

Like always my mom makes the kids matching Christmas pajamas. It's crazy to see how much the kids have grown since this picture.

Christmas was on Sunday so we decided to celebrate on Saturday since Sundays are so busy for us with church. The kids opened stockings first.

We filled them mostly with snacks. Unlike tiny toys once they are consumed they're gone. It makes everyone happy.

I made our traditional Christmas wreath bread for breakfast. Along side it I made baked eggs with spinach and tomatoes.

Behold! The Christmas pickle. 

Our friends the Wilhelms have a tradition that who ever finds the pickle on the tree gets to hand out the presents. George was the winner.

Trying out the new bike helmet while playing with her doll house. Christen and I stayed up late the two nights prior assembling that doll house. It was crazy but we got it done and she was thrilled with it. 

Christmas 2015

Christmas was a fun, busy, and long day. It started early (as usually) with the kids waking us up wearing their super cute Christmas jammies. My mom makes the best flannel pj's and the kids love them.

We all stumbled down the stairs to start the day with stockings and coffee.

We're sticking with our Christmas wreath breakfast bread that we starting last year. We also had local sausage, grapefruit and orange juice.

Edith was super cute opening her first gift. She was very excited about new gloves...as you can tell.

A tool set from Nathans parents along with safety goggles. Those goggles are a hot commodity around here.

Edith received a wooden scooter to ride around inside. They were both super excited about putting it together. George even got to use some of his new tools.

Christmas and the few days surrounding it were unusually warm for NH. We took full advantage of the warmth and Nathans Saturday off to do a lot of walking around Portsmouth. It was a nice ending to all the Christmas craziness.

Walking Around

Did I say we had a warm Christmas? Well thankfully it lasted the two days after Christmas too. Nathan had off Thursday-Sunday so we headed to Portsmouth Friday afternoon to walk around. George had a little Christmas money from a family at church and we let him pick out what he wanted to spend it on. A garbage truck! It's barely left his side in two weeks.

Christmas Day 2014

I have a ton of pictures so I'm not going to go into much detail. It was a a fun day and super warm. Weather in the 50's at Christmas is very unusually for NH but we loved it. We had a relaxing day at home, as relaxing as it can be with two kids who got up early and didn't nap well. We got out of the house for a bit right before it got dark to get some fresh air and help George burn some energy. Almost exactly like our Christmas last year.
