Fort McClary

We went to check out Forty McClary a few weeks ago in Kittery, ME. The site of the fort has been occupied since 1689 as an important military position. The fort has been manned during 5 wars:
The American Revolution
The War of 1812
The War Of Northern Aggression
Spanish American War
World War I

This was the first fort we've visited in the area and we're looking forward to exploring a few more.

It was, of course, right on the water so you can see all the beautiful sailboats.

This blurry stair shot is for my daddy...next time you're designing stairs you'll have to do these.

He loved this fireplace for some reason.
