Original Chopper

A couple of weeks ago Nathan and I headed down to GA to pick up a few things from my parents and my Grandpa. We got a sweet iron bed that I painted black to go in the bedroom. While we were at my grandpa's he let us have a few little neat things that I love. I remember using this to chop onions for salsa with my grandmother.



Those are the orange cabinets behind the chopper! More pictures of the house next week.

Day Off

Last Saturday we took a day off from painting and working on the house to ride the bike up to Blowing Rock and Boone. It was a lot of fun to get away. The weather was perfect for riding and I really liked both places. While we were in Blowing Rock we at lunch at the Six Pence Pub (also have one in Savannah). The food was great and Nathan and I tried something new...

...Scotch Eggs! Scotch Eggs are hard boiled eggs wrapped in bacon or sausage coated in bread crumbs and either deep fried or baked. They are served cold usually with a salad. I'm not a huge fan of hard boiled eggs but these were awesome!


I had fish-n-chips and...

...Nathan had Guinness beef. All was very tasty.

First Meal

The house is finally starting to feel like a house and not a dump. The majority of the painting is done so all we need now is furniture and things like curtains. Last week we ate at the house for the first time and Nathan showed up with this. So romantic...


I should have some pictures the beginning of next week. The refrigerator we purchased off of craigslist died so we have to get another one. :( Nathan has a co-worker that is getting rid of his. Hopefully it will last a little longer than the last one.

Madison GA

On the way back to NC from Ga Nathan and I stopped in Madison. It's a really cute little town with all kinds of neat shops.

This junk store was amazing! They had all kinds of awesome treasures.

It was really hot so we got some ice cream.

Bedroom

The bedroom is painted! As you can see I'm still waiting for Nathan to take down the blue tape that I can't reach. I usually paint and tape everything that I can reach and he comes back and does the rest.


This is the duvet cover I bought from Pottery Barn last year on sale. We're going to pick up my grandmothers iron bed tomorrow and I can't wait to put this on it! (I don't have any sheets though...hmm)

Bathroom

The bathroom is done! I have to prime and paint the door to the cabinet and get Nathan to put the light fixture up and then it will ready to use. I really like the light blue we picked out. It turned out really nice. It's a really small bathroom so it's hard to take a good picture of it but these will at least give you an idea.



This is the shower curtain that we registered for at Bed Bath & Beyond. I think it will go nicely with the blue and white.

Coming Along

Ok...so I feel like all I've done for the past 3 days is paint, eat and sleep. I've actually painted, painted, taped, painted, ate and slept. Anyway, the bathroom and bedroom are done!! The kitchen is in progress but close. I'll hopefully post a few pictures in the next few days. Right now it's off to get a refrigerator and stove!

Made it to NC!! I'm going to try and blog more so all of you back in the boro can keep up with me. One of the things that has been lost during the move is the charger for my phone. So if you're wondering why I'm not returning your calls...
